Debunking the self loathing argument

For decades now the left has used language as a weapon to attack the right with abandon. It’s always the same steady stream of lies and repetitive justification argument that falls flat when we look at actual facts. Republicans are racists. A fact debunked by the very existence of the Republican party. At the time of the Civil War, there were no Republican slave owners. The party of Lincoln also enjoyed being the party that represented black Americans first in the Senate and House.

There is all sorts of history that demonstrates the Republican Party does not represent racism. There are always isolated individuals. But then the argument becomes that a group of those who are certainly racist, represent the entire party. This too is a false narrative that has never held up to logical or historical scrutiny. The black community has been represented by educated and amazing black men in both the Democrat and Republican party both. The simple fact remains, it was a very long time before black representatives were elected under the banner of the Democrat Party.

What about the argument that LGBTQ people who vote against Democrats are self loathing? This is not only a fabrication with no factual data to support such a claim, it’s quite nearly impossible to hate yourself if you are voting for Republicans based upon the party aligning itself with conservative constitutional values. It’s quite literally meant to be an attack on the character of someone who doesn’t conform by voting and regurgitating party talking points like a Muppet.

At one time LGBTQ people who could not be represented by the mainstream Republican party did in fact find a home with the Log Cabin Republicans, a group that has outlived its usefulness in my opinion. While it was a place to find representation within the Republican party they have done nothing in my lifetime of any value to get their message out to the rest of the LGBTQ community. To this day I can’t tell you the last time I heard anything from them that was even remotely helpful to bringing over voters to the party from the LGBTQ community. No outreach, no support, not a single thing that I can remotely recall hearing about.

So what is this self loathing argument really about? I’m sure most of you reading this already know the basic reasoning behind it. It’s an attack. A shame tactic. A literally bully pulpit tactic to silence opposition. It’s not based in truth. It’s weaponized language. The left has done it to black people for decades before the LGBTQ community became a more viable target and more visible to the public. We’ve seen how Democrats treat the black community and anyone that even thinks about speaking out against the rhetoric of liberals. They are called Uncle Tom, shamed for voting against their race, told they hate themselves, accused of heading back to the plantations. Odd how it was all southern Democrats that owned those plantations. All of those slaves. How were these good people who were voting their heart in what they believed, possibly seeking to head back to the plantations? That never made sense to me.

The same is true of the LGBT community except the circumstances. It’s language meant to shame people into submission. The most volatile individuals who hate LGBTQ people who vote for conservatives are, of course, other gay people. The language becomes vicious. The hatred and contempt. LGBTQ people who have already come out once weather a second storm when they come out a second time and others in the community catch wind of it. Suddenly you’ve become a social pariah. A traitor. You’ve literally been shoved back into the closet if you wish to have any meaningful contact with another human being in hopes of find a connection that isn’t a crazy Nazi queer that would possibly kill you in your sleep for being anything but a Democrat.

You think I’m kidding about that last part, but I’m not. I recently saw a tweet from an 18yo confused person that thinks it is a transgender person. It basically stated that it wanted to go around and sleep with boomers, kill them, and take all their stuff to go and sell. They hate older gays because supposedly they’re the problem. Disturbingly it didn’t seem to discriminate against the idea of killing people regardless of political affiliation but, it was certainly a communist liberal clown.

Liberalism dictates your victim status and you must comply or you must be destroyed. That’s the bottom line. No matter what victim classification you might be, there is no exceptions and they don’t take any prisoners. They regurgitate the same unsubstantiated claims over and over. If they repeat it often enough, say it loud enough, then it must be true in their mind. There is one simple little problem. When asked to cite any data that supports these claims they have none. The shaming of blacks or the shaming of LGBTQ people is the exact same unsupported claim.

Those who use such arguments are simply looking to dominate an exchange. They feel if they can put you on the defensive they’ve won the day. It doesn’t matter if you tell them they’re incorrect or lying. That doesn’t force the issue. You literally have to charge them to find a citation that demonstrates conclusive evidence that such a thing even exists let alone is factually supported by an unbiased source.

Anyone that tells me that I am self loathing because I vote as a Constitutional Conservative has a big problem of their own. They’re demonstrating their insecurities by not being able to debate issues on evidence. They’ve simply reverted to grade school antics and aren’t worth engaging further.

Let’s talk about Education.

A topic that every parents should focused on with the upcoming school year is homeschooling. Why is it important? Because as you all can see, the current education system has led to a major breakdown in civil behavior in America. Kids aren’t learning things that actually help them to learn how to become adults and assimilate into society. They’re quite literally being indoctrinated and the evidence of that has been in front of our faces for the last 20 years.

When the Department of Education became a thing under Jimmy Carter, a process to takeover and fundamentally change our education system took place. Behavior in schools started to change dramatically. Programs and standardized testing tied were tied to federal funding. Teachers were overburdened with larger class sizes, fewer resources, and less ability to correct bad behavior. Children started being taught that they were in control. That the schools had less and less authority over time and hand in hand with that was teaching children how to punish their parents using the tools of law enforcement both in and outside of the school structure.

Americans need to take control of the education of their children, now more than ever. Two generations of kids are out there right now which demonstrate they are products of a failed system to teach kids basic life skills to not only survive but also to thrive. Our schools don’t care about the quality of happiness of our children. They don’t address the social and spiritual needs of our children. They don’t teach, they indoctrinate. They program our kids rather than teach them.

A few years ago my fiance turned me on to this video and to this day I am still blown away by this young man. Logan LaPlante, a 13 year old at the time, gives a compelling Ted Talk that everyone should see and pass around. Because now, more than ever, reinventing the education of your children may be the biggest contribution we as Americans can provide for the generations of kids to come. It might very well be a way to correct course and set America back in the right direction.

The age of Trump and Conservative inclusion.

I’ve been asked in the past how could I support conservative ideas and be gay.  No matter how many ways you explain to some people they simply don’t grasp what possible reason could make you want to walk away from the Democrats because in their view it supports the idea that you are voting against your own interest.

Since before Donald Trump took office, and after he came out for the LGBT community, a whole new door opened for the gay community that in my lifetime had never happened. A person running for president openly embraced our community. I don’t think that Trump has a major understanding of the community on a personal level. I don’t even think he understands all of our issues. Hell, he just might for all I know. But in the age of Trump I finally have a voice that I never had for all the years I had sounded the alarm about problems with the Democrats and the fact they didn’t care about us as a community, even a little bit.

So let’s be frank.  On Twitter and Facebook I can’t use the term fag without being censored and even banned from the platform.  You can’t speak against so called ‘protected’ classes of people even if you happen to be one of those people calling out things you see wrong within your own community.

I’m 49 years old.  I’ve seen plenty in my life and I’ve had a lot of friends in the gay community over the years that were far older than myself.  The overwhelming majority of people that I’ve known in my life were liberals.  I had a friend that some people in the LGBT community might know very well in certain circles.  Professor Tom Chorlton.  He was a nice guy.  He was a good man.  He was a professor for the University of Columbia.  I spent many days and evenings in his company as well as was honored to meet and get to know friends of his which included people like Jim Bennett and Deacon Maccubbin, the owners of Lambda Rising Books, who were friends of Tom’s that I was lucky enough to be introduced and get to know over several years.

While Deacon and Jim no longer associate with me, I still consider them dear friends that taught me a great deal when I was just in my 20’s and struggling with my life and day to day.  They were outspoken and strong voices and I don’t deny that a great many things they have done for the gay community are worthy of high praise and respect but let me be clear, they are not role models nor people I want to be like as an adult.  I’ve seen and been around enough that I lost my respect for them on morality because of things that they directly did over the years I knew them.  I respect the work they had done, not the men themselves.

My views changed over the decades of my life.  I had watched something that caused a great deal of conflict in my life.  I looked on as a community that was screaming out for attention lashed out in every possible way.  I saw some of things we wanted come to pass but the behavior and self destructive madness of anything goes anytime turned the LGBT community into something I couldn’t reconcile with my values as a human being.

There are things you just have to stop, look at, and then do some real soul searching about if you’re going to grow up and become an adult at some point in your life.  Watching middle age and above men and women coming out and acting fools because suddenly they felt they had license to shove themselves upon society. In doing so they also became the most vocal role models in the LGBT community. The examples set were immoral on every level. It became a culture of hookups, unsafe sex, drugs, and so much worse. A culture where the Internet gave way to the very worst sorts of predatory behavior. Prostitution on a whole new level.

It was bad enough that during the years that AIDS was center stage in the LGBT community that you had young gay men going to ‘conversion parties’ and engaged in the heavy usage of meth, cocaine, heroine, ecstasy, and other hard substances.  This behavior was encouraged and much older men were preying upon much younger boys.  Money, drugs, and sex was a lethal combination that was taking the lives of young people in the gay community and spreading a disease in the most brutal and twisted of ways.

I was in my 20s going to parties that I had been invited to attend by men 30 to 40 years older than myself.  I saw things.  I was terrified.  I had no idea what the hell was going on.  I was young, I clearly didn’t understand the dangers of the world around me.  I was struggling as a young gay man in a world that didn’t accept gay people. It was the age of Matthew Shepard and Jeffrey Dahmer.

Liberals don’t want to talk about the destructive behavior in the gay community.  They don’t want to talk about the predatory behavior. They don’t want to speak of the pedophiles that have preyed upon young people in the LGBT community. It’s been going on for years.  I’ve been a victim of it, lived through it, and eventually when I grew up I understood what was truly wrong and how we were being used as a community for a political agenda while our actual issues were ignored.

Yes, I know about important issues that are part of the conservative movement today and I see the contrast between liberal politics and conservative values.  As a gay man I want to see a world where moral values in the gay community are as important as our rights.  I see protection of the Constitution and getting government out of our lives as a means to an end where we can find common ground with people that we disagree with on the right.  Such as Christians and others in the religious community.

I dislike the identify politics of the Democratic party.  I find it disturbing to say the least.  We’re all victim class voters that Democrats claim to care about yet they never truly fight for us. You can tell by the issues that they vote upon. They’re not interested in civil justice. They’re about enrichment of the ruling class while pandering to the voters on occasion with a bone thrown at us once in a while. When they give us something they make a huge deal of it with fanfare and little celebrations that are supposed to be big wins when they were nothing at all.

So I’m not allowed to speak out about what is wrong in the gay community on most social media platforms.  The only way I can put the truth out there is to use my voice on this website and continue to talk with people and assert my beliefs because I think they are morally and legally the right course to strengthen our country and the gay community.

It’s time for the LGBT community to stop being victims.  It’s time for us to shine a light on the amazing people all over the world that are part of the conservative movement and want more for the right and good of the entire gay community.  To be able to speak to issues and not everything be taken as an attack on a protected class.  Where everything we say has to be politically correct or else we’re punished for our speech.

In an age where Donald Trump is president, it takes strong voices that are willing to step up and say the unpopular things that people don’t want to hear but need to hear.  People in the gay community that have long remained silent or have gone along with something for fear of being persecuted by others have got to stand up and fight back.

The best solution to unpopular speech and ideas are more ideas and the ability to freely speak more.

I’ll always believe that. That’s why I am here, now. That’s why I’ve never given up over all the years I have been a conservative that people will eventually see that the LGBT community and the conservative movement are the most logical allies because we all want the thing. Our rights protected. Our rights and that of others, respected and protected. Equal observance under the law for all. Less government in our lives. A fiscally responsible government. A government not involved in the business of war. A government that puts American lives and interests first. A wall to keep as much bad out of our country for the sake of our people and a peaceful way of life.

This is what it means to be a LGBT voice in the age of Trump. A chance to finally be represented and understood without the labels and hatred that are associated with the socialist progressive movement in America today.

We are not victims. We’re patriots and proud to be Americans.
